SYNOPSIS:
Banished overseas after attempting to assassinate his Triad boss, Wo has resurfaced in Macau with a wife and newborn child in tow. When two of his former colleagues are sent to kill Wo and two more show up determined to protect him, the five men find themselves forced to reconcile their personal history with their professional code of honor. With brilliantly choreographed gunfights and heartfelt themes of loyalty and responsibility, Exiled is poised to be the definitive Johnnie To film, and possibly the best Hong Kong film of the decade.

In conjunction with the exhibition, UNKNOWN FORCES: APICHATPONG WEERASETHAKUL (on view through June 17), REDCAT will present a selection of the filmmaker's feature and short films.

Weerasethakul has exhibited and screened his films widely and has been presented numerous awards for his art projects and feature films including the Prix Un Certain Regard, Cannes Film Festival, 2002; the Prix du Jury, Cannes Film Festival, 2004; Age d'or Prize, Cine de'couvertes, 2004; and Grand Prize, Tokyo Filmex, 2004. In 2005, he received the Silpatorn Award from the Thai Ministry of Culture's Office of Contemporary Arts.
